Biofillers for Skin & Hair Rejuvenation

What is PRF?

Unlike synthetic fillers, PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) involves injectable treatments that utilize components within your blood to rejuvenate the skin. However, PRF goes further to maximize your body's natural healing capabilities. While PRP focuses on concentrated platelets, PRF also incorporates white blood cells, stem cells, and a fibrin matrix. This fibrin scaffold provides a longer-lasting structure for growth factors released by the platelets, leading to more sustained and potentially more dramatic results in collagen production, wound healing, overall skin rejuvenation, and even hair regrowth.

We are passionate about providing our patients with the most advanced and truly beneficial treatment options. We are happy to offer a comprehensive, natural approach to skin revitalization with PRF. Biofillers like PRF offer an excellent alternative to synthetic fillers and other treatments.

What is the PRF procedure like?

The PRP and PRF treatment processes are nearly the same, with only a slight difference in how the blood sample is processed. The entire treatment takes about one hour and allows you to immediately return to your regular routine.

1. Preparation

  • Blood Draw: A small amount of blood is drawn from your arm, similar to a routine blood test.
  • Platelet Concentration: The blood undergoes centrifugation to separate the platelets and other beneficial components from red blood cells and plasma.

2. PRF Activation

  • Depending on the treatment plan and desired outcome, the concentrated platelets might undergo further activation steps using calcium chloride or other substances. This step aims to enhance the release of growth factors from the platelets.

3. PRF Delivery

  • Injection: The concentrated PRF solution is injected precisely into targeted areas of the skin using a fine needle.
  • Topical Application: PRF may be applied topically to the skin in a cream or serum, especially following microneedling or laser skin resurfacing to promote healing and intensify results.

What conditions does PRF address?

PRF tackles a range of cosmetic concerns associated with skin aging, sun damage, and even scarring:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles: PRF injections can soften the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and even facial folds by stimulating collagen production, promoting a smoother and more youthful look.
  • Uneven skin texture and laxity: PRF's growth factors encourage cell regeneration, leading to a firmer and more even skin texture to minimize concerns like acne scars or loss of elasticity.
  • Sun damage: PRF can refine skin tone and improve the visible signs of sun damage, such as hyperpigmentation (age spots) and uneven skin tone.
  • Acne scars: PRF's tissue repair properties can help improve the appearance of acne scars by stimulating collagen production and promoting smoother texture. However, deeper scars may require a combination approach with other treatments.
  • Overall rejuvenation: PRF can promote cellular health and tissue regeneration, contributing to a brighter, more radiant complexion and a more youthful appearance.
  • Hair loss and thinning: PRF can be injected directly into the scalp, rejuvenating follicles and increasing hair growth, density, and overall health.

What areas of the body can PRF address?

Treatment Designed By You, For You

What are the benefits of a PRF Facial?

PRF facials offer a convenient and comfortable way to achieve noticeable skin rejuvenation without disrupting your daily routine. Here's a breakdown of the benefits of a PRF facial versus other rejuvenating treatments:

Reduced Downtime

PRF facials are minimally invasive, meaning you can return to your daily activities right after the treatment.

Shorter Appointment Times

PRF facials are quicker in-office procedures than surgical procedures or even some laser treatments. The blood draw, preparation, and injection process can often be completed within about an hour.

Natural-looking Results

PRF uses your own cells to promote collagen production, leading to subtle, gradual, and natural-looking improvements in your skin's texture and appearance. There's no risk of an "overdone" look.

Less Discomfort

The injections used in PRF facials are typically well-tolerated, and topical numbing cream can be applied beforehand to minimize any discomfort.

Potentially Fewer Appointments

Since PRF offers long-lasting results, you may need fewer treatments than other options. The frequency depends on your needs and goals, but follow-up sessions are usually spaced out over months.

Minimal Risk

PRF is derived from your body, so it poses significantly less risk of adverse effects.

Holistic Healing

Am I a candidate for PRF?

Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is ideal for patients seeking skin or hair rejuvenation without significant downtime, synthetic fillers, or other products. It is excellent on its own but can also benefit patients undergoing other surgical and non-surgical treatments as it promotes healing and overall rejuvenation.

PRF Recovery

For most patients, recovery after PRF injections is minimal. There is no notable downtime so you can return to your daily routine immediately after your appointment. While side effects are mild, you may experience some swelling, redness, or tenderness around injection sites. As with any injectable treatment, it is important to keep your injection sites clean to prevent infection.

PRF Results

As cellular regeneration occurs, you will notice subtle and gradual rejuvenation in treated areas. Most patients notice skin improvements within about two weeks; however, your results will continue to develop for about three months. You can maintain your results with regular treatments spaced six months apart.

When will I see the results from PRF hair restoration?

You may notice a minor increase in hair growth within just a few weeks of your treatment. But, because results are gradual, you should expect a significant difference in your hair growth within several months. At this point, you can look forward to enhanced hair growth and density as well as a substantial reduction in hair loss in treated areas. While results can last up to a year, you can space your PRF hair treatments according to your needs.
